SMTP gateway for Office 365 for scanners and old legacy applications that doesn’t support TLS.
This solution install on latest Windows 2016 IIS 6.0 SMTP service and configure it. You need to provide only:
-admin credentials for VM (normal during deploying a new VM)
-SMTP account that scanners and application will use for sending through this server
-Office 365 credentials
After deploying
this VM please log in to the VM, from Server Manager launch Internet Information
Services (IIS) 6.0 Manager, on SMTP Virtual Server Properties, go to Delivery
TAB and change Expiration timeout to 1 Day. After That Stop and Start SMTP
server or just restart VM.
SMTP is configure that need authentication, but you can add IP that will be able to use SMTP without authentication.
This solution works as a Basic A0 VM (cost about 11 euro per month), but deploying time is about 1 hour, so I suggest it to deploy as a bigger VM and after deploying change to A0.
After reconfiguration it can be used for Gmail also.
